DESIGN NAME: TAIWAN Physical Education Performance
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Event Visual Identity
INSPIRATION: Inspired by the great varieties of sports and these athletes' glory moments, the typography design and color plan of this key visual visualizes the sports space such as track field, stadium, and baseball court to illustrate the connection to the hard work and endless practice behind every success and proud moment.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Physical Education Performance Show is an annual top event held by Taiwan Government to promote different sports and glorify the athletes in Taipei Arena, Taiwan. This typography design of key visual visualizes the sports space such as track field, stadium, and baseball court, to illustrate the connection to the hard work and endless practice behind every success and proud moment. The visual design was not only developed as advertising poster, but also in different formats in this event.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The key visual is designed to applied both in printed and digital medias. The graphics and colors of the event deliver a kind of unique inspirational, vibrant and cheerful expression to the person in terms of vision and mentality.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project started in December 2018 and finished in September 2019 in Taipei, TAIWAN. The main event was held on September 21, 2019 in Taipei Arena.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This event visual identity project is extremely bold in applying colors, with dynamic color animations, it creates vibrant, inspirational and fun atmosphere of the show. Instead of specific athlete’s figure image, this project is composed with typography made with sporty elements. The interlaced matching of visual elements could bring the audience, athletes and performers with the feeling of being cheered up, creating an event environment full with vitality, glory and creativity.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This project covers a standard stadium, the Taipei Arena.
The key visual is applied to different medias, which include advertising poster, advertising campaigns, TVCF, digital signage, background videos, motion graphic.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Interviews with professional athletes and chairmen of sports associations/leagues. Reach to different sports training groups included in this project, such as National Team players, coaches, and performers. Observed, and communicated with athletes about their thoughts and spirits that must be conveyed in this project during the field research.
CHALLENGE: The hardest part was to challenge the key visual identity design with a brand new typography look instead of just using the endorsement figures. Developing the typefaces that composed with sports elements and considering the transmission for future motion graphic medias usage are not that easy especially for Chinese typefaces, so it takes long time to finalize it.
