PRIMARY FUNCTION: Either Side Stackable Armchair
INSPIRATION: It is a design that may solve problems that could not be generalized in the long history of chairs.
Stacking armchairs often requires lifting to seat height. Also, most often only from the front or the back.
This chair can be stacked from either side by simply lifting it by 40 mm.
The seat is made of clear acrylic and appears to float when sitting.
The elasticity of a metal pipe, the elasticity of acrylic, and the warmth of wood are combined.
Since multiple frames can be stacked, the cost will be reduced during manufacturing and transportation.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Designed to be stackable "from the front and from the back" despite being an armchair. Access to chairs is usually from the back if there is a table in front. Therefore, stacking from the back would improve convenience. The structure and design were aimed at ultimate simplification. The product name comes from the shape of the chair frame seen from the front. The simplest design will cast a beautiful shadow.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This design is the simplest form of armchair that can be stacked from the front and back, and this idea is considered to be widely used in the future even for modified shapes.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2019 in HYOGO and will finish April 2021.
