INSPIRATION:
The designer was inspired by Sue Sylvester in the TV show called Glee. She writes her diary like she is talking to a loyal friend. A lot of people have the habit of writing diaries, especially during the quarantine. Therefore, he designed this diary book for people in quarantine to write down the numbers and thoughts just like talking to a close friend.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This is a diary book which has a soft cover and over 200 pages. It is designed for people to write down the situations around them and their feelings. By using this diary book, the designer would love to see people take this whole situation more seriously when they look into all the data and policies. And also make them feeling less isolated when 'speak to' the diary book.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The line chart pages are for the users to record the data that could reflect the development of the virus. They are designed to be used monthly but users can always be creative. The map pages are meant for users to color to show the difference among all the countries. It would be a great family event to color the map during quarantine. The daily pages include family members' health conditions, new policies, sanitation supply records and emotion records. These are few things that could be write down daily.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
This project started in April 2020 in the Netherlands and finished in July 2020 in China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
For the cover, he uses vegan leathers. And for the page inside, he uses 80 percent of recycle paper.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
First, I took a research whether people need to write diary during quarantine. And more than half of people I talked to showed the tendency of writing diaries during quarantine because it was so boring to be locked in their own house. Then I took a research of what contents should be in this diary book. And the appropriate contents are showed in my final work.
CHALLENGE:
It was a challenge for me to find out the contents involved by this diary book. I want people to record the development and details when the virus exploding, but I don't want this diary book to be a reminder if something misirable happened to them. It was a challenge to find the balance between them.
