DESIGN NAME: Origami Mask
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Fashion mask
INSPIRATION: One traditional way Japanese have fun is with origami.
This project was inspired by the origami.
For Japanese, origami has a special meaning.
We fold it to hope for your health and happiness.
It is possible to DIY under hard circumstances like pandemic.
Then we would like them to use them for japanese traditional wedding or traditional cultural scenes.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a project to make an origami face mask by a piece of Japanese paper.
Origami is one of japan's traditional paper-craft arts.
It has 4 unique points.
1.Design: Using only one piece of paper. Origami paper with Kinpaku (gold leaf) has folding lines.
2.Technology: no sawing, no glue.
3.Regional characteristics: There are Japanese paper manufacture in Japan. They have different waters and materials and methods, and therefore region-specific paper.
4.Sustainability: easy to recycle.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Many people made a habit to wear a mask preventatively.
After this pandemic, many types of fashion mask have been released.
This fashion mask is for people who enjoy Japanese traditional culture for example a wedding party and a tea ceremony (Sado), a flower arrangement (Kado).
CHALLENGE: We thought it is hard to mass production this origami mask as traditional japanese handcraft.
We exchanged ideas with the factory would be possible to manufacture for mass production.
