DESIGN NAME: FingerSnap
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Disposable Finger Screen/Protector
INSPIRATION: Inspired by clear tape with dispenser and mint breath strips. Public service equipment like order tap screen or elevator buttons usually will be touched by many people during the day, and would full of germs on the surface. Normally people will only use one finger to finish the process. Thus a disposal small tape can be swiped and snap on the finger directly and get rid of easily is very helpful to help prevent direct contact with those surfaces under exposed in germ and virus circumstance.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is a sticky note like tape, people can be easily detached and stick on finger. It can be stick on finger fast and easily in just a swipe. Can be carried daily, or installed by the public service equipment, both situations are clean and easy for people to use. For people has allergy issue with chemicals, people don't need to sanitize both hands and wait gel to dry, just need to screen one finger. It save on material compared with using disposal gloves.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: 1. Prevent direct contact with public touched items
2. A fast and easy swipe on the tape with point finger that allows the tape snap on finger point area as an isolator before touch public touched screen or buttons.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 6th 2020 in the United States for Covid-19 pandemic city lockdown and finished in May 14th, 2020 in the United States.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Existing supply chain can produce, save valuable time in emergency as pandemic situation if needs fast production.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Currently people use sanitizers to solve similar problem. Finding easier solution by analyze and summarize the people’s behavior in natural ways, and solving it in one most efficient finger swipe is important, meanwhile by using the least amount of material.
CHALLENGE: The key challenge is to simplify the germ isolation process in least cost, material and time in use while without changing people’s daily behavior much. Meanwhile offer people who don’t carrying sanitizer daily still have clean, safe and easy ways to use public offered facilities.
