PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Sterilization UVC Light
INSPIRATION:
During this unpredictable pandemic, self health management by families and individuals as proven by data now are of up most importance, the home being the starting and ending point of all human daily activities this project combines immediate UV purification of outer garments at the door on the way in or out.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The designer is practically arranging this sterilization hanger with emphasis on fashionable modeling in the daily activity with people entering and leaving their home. In addition to achieving a real reduction in the risk of bringing external germs into the room, it can also be used as a lamp when not sterilizing.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The UVC light is intentionally made rotational not stationary in order to provide 360° antivirus decontamination of coats, scarves, sweaters, bags, shoes etc.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in April 2020 in Taipei and planning to finish in July 2020 in Taipei.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The design of this project considers overseas shipment using light weight transportable components. The parts are easily assembled for users convenience, the colorful lantern covers use plastic or commonly available cloth and the struts of steel or eco-friendly bamboo.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The UVC light is protected from eyesight by four overlapping flaps and even more safely the UVC light is operational only when the lantern panel is closed.
CHALLENGE:
The challenge is to create a multi functional home furnishing that serves as a welcoming entranceway light such as Asian lanterns, also a cabinet for placing outerwear and a disinfection chamber against any virus.
