INSPIRATION:
2point4 cubic is designed to aid people who are directly effected by post pandemic situation and lost their home by giving a basic surviving spatial space. An architecture that can be manufactured massively in fast period of time and does not required any construction process. Made in one mold using recycled plastic material to ensure the lowest possible fabrication cost that everyone could contribute in helping for those who need a surviving shelter at the worst condition.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
2point4 cubic is a prefabricated living space that made entirely from recycled plastic, a mixture of high density polyethylene hdpe and polypropylene pp of most common material in the industry. A complete daily function of spatial property in the dimension of clean 2.4 meter cubic. Made in one mold and can be mass produced at a fraction of the cheapest nowadays available housing. Lightweight, easy to transport, no construction needed and weatherproof.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The design is at a dimension of clean cube of 2.4 meters cubic. A standard size to make easier land transport and shipping. Top and bottom layer is formed like metal deck for stacking availability, strengthen structure, instant locking and skip construction procedures. It is also molded in rigid construction mesh at both layer for durability. As plastic is a waterproof material, the air gap and bright color is also giving temperature control. A design that giving ready made housing to be placed and done.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
This project is started in April 2020 and finalizing in May 2020 in a specific design for War on Virus competition. As a prefabricated housing that does not need any construction process, it can be located and delivered anywhere around the globe in needed, even outreach places. A building that specifically designed to aid homeless people who are directly effected by pandemic situation.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
This design is already at the final stage and ready to be massively produced as soon as needed. The digital three dimensional file can be converted into 3d printing file to make the base molding. A mixture of HDPE and PP Plastic is then molded and produced in large scale quantity. After the base mould in completed, plastic glass will be attached as the windows and upvc sliding doors. Front door is a ready made cheap upvc door that doubles as ventilation. Plumbing and electrical equipment are placed at the last procedure and the product is ready to be delivered.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
2.4 meter x 2.4 meter x 2.4 meter dimension. Weatherproof, Waterproof and Self Maintained Temperature by using air gap layer at wall cover and rigid modeling to strengthen layer, floors and ceiling. Made in one mold from hdpe and pp industrial grade materials. Variant of color can be made as requested. Electricity and plumbing is hidden at layer gap and accessible from front facade. Underfloor foundation and roof is made with metal deck form for strong and instant lock stacking. Each model is equipped with fold able steel ladder.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Pandemic outbreaks does not affects at only one consideration, but it also effecting the global economic situation as businesses are pressured in closing down. Employees are threaten and SME businesses are in endanger situation. At this point, post pandemic situation could affect humanity in large scale as economy is shaken greatly at many places. One of the consideration in primary need is a space for living. When people are losing their jobs, they need a shelter to survive.
CHALLENGE:
On this situation, designer is challenged to make a design that is possible to fabricate at large amount of quantity in little time, but the possibility of manufacturing process and time is not the only consideration. The design need to meet the purpose of project which to help in giving people a surviving shelter at the worst economic condition. So it must be very cheap and does not make any sweat in distribution.
