DESIGN NAME: The Fold Quarantine
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Isolation Unit
INSPIRATION: The design concept was derived from the cartoon paper box, all its faces are connected together and can be twisted in both sides, also it has the ability to be folded out to be a thin sheet so you can store it with ease and takes no room, the F.Q. deploy unit was designed on this concept to be easy to install in any site and easy to transport a large number of them in different transportation types whether by land or air.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Fold Quarantine is a small smart project designed especially for the urgent cases of pandemics that threatens mankind's life. The design implementation process was based on flexibility and smart installation in order to reduce time and cost consumption. the project will apply the nanotechnology applications in architecture and products in order to design a clean interactive unit against germs and viruses
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Project has three main phases to be installed as follows:
1-Fold Phase: The unit consists of 6 panels four of them are for the walls, floor, and ceiling and the other two are for the front and back openings.
2- Transformation Phase: The Panels Will be fixed together with hinges that can twist on both sides, which allow them to be folded in multiple positions to add flexibility to the storing and transportation of the unit.
3-Deploy Phase: The final phase which allows adding some devices to the unit such as fans on the top of the unit and there are places to fix UV lights on the outer panels in order to keep activating the self-cleaning process on the exterior coating and getting rid of germs and bacteria
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Fabrication of the Unit should take no time and can be ready within days and it depends on the quantity of the units, the project can be located in any place around the world.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The project can be made fiber cement panels to be easy to install and transport. The design will apply the nanotechnology architectural applications to provide a clean and healthy working environment for both the medical staff and patients, those applications are as follows: Self-Cleaning, ETC (easy to clean), and Anti-bacterial coatings.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The Fold Quarantine consists of :
six panels of fiber cement pre-fabricated panels
- The floor panel is 7.03m (L) x 2.45m (W)
- The wall panel is 6.95m (L) x 2.45m (H) two side panels
- The Ceiling Panel is 6.95m (L) x 2.35m (W)
- The Wall panel is 2.35m (W) x 2.45m (H) two front and back panels
- The front panel has a door opening 1.45m (W) x 2.10m (H)
- Roof (Ceiling) panel hs two optional openings for installing Ventilation fans.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The fold quarantine project is an idea of a portable medical care unit that can be installed in any site, from this point came the research objective, which was to design a clean, healthy and durable portable quarantine unit to withstand the pandemic situation of coronavirus around the world.
CHALLENGE: Today the world is facing a global war on a deadly virus, this what brings this idea to light as the healthcare facilities now in some countries suffer from huge numbers of patients and the equipment and places aren't enough. The idea was that we can design and install a fold isolation unit that can be put anywhere. "less is more" this sentence is always inspiring, the design doesn't need to be complicated but it has to be helpful and practical especially in these days, so the quarantine is movable healthcare facility equipped with the necessary protection methods with nanotechnology.
