INSPIRATION: The inspiration influenced by Ilana Seleznev's new thinking system methodology which she developed, The Math Of Design - Thinking Inside The Box. In a hope to guide designers on how to think and where to look in order to create innovative products in a systematic way. In addition, the Japanese shapes and minimal design are very systematic and inspiring as well.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Inspired by the Japanese art of origami, we've created this table from a single folded piece of sheet metal.
The result is a perfect mix between traditional craft and modern design.
Whether as your main coffee table or at your bedside, this is a stylish yet practical way to dress up any room.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Origami Tabel was designed to be a mostly decorative product with minimal human interaction. The owner can decide to place the product in a suited location like a beautiful abstract or like a
functional table.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2018 in Israel and finished in January 2019.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The product was designed following the self-made methodology called "The Math Of Design - Thinking Inside The Box". The product can be made only from one piece of Metal/Aluminum.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Origami Tabel was designed by the "Math Of Design" method which is a self-developed method. Alter the shape was developed with the tool method "Thinking inside the box" the research focused on finding the correct materials for it and sizes.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge was to find the right type of materials, and a size that will be affordable for the private customer in local production and physically working.
