| DESIGN NAME: Wellmind PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sanitary Tissue INSPIRATION: To convey the idea of softness and environmental friendliness, we designed a key element for the brand, the Mobius Band, which stands for infinite recycle and sustainable development. The band is stimulating graphically the fiber of bamboo, which is pliable and dynamic. Yet the tenacity is shown in the typographic design of characters. Together with a compact layout design, the package turns out to be a captivating story-teller. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Wellmind is brand of sanitary tissue made of bamboo. In 21st century, the Chinese market of sanitary market based on wood is getting mature both in machinery equipment and in production crafts. Yet the growth speed of bamboo is much faster than wood, which makes it a trend to make tissue out of bamboo. As well, the cultivation of bamboo requires no pesticide. Wellmind noticed that and now strive for doing business with environment protected and resource saved . OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: How to save consumer's effort to look for an ideal product is the key challenge of this case. A distinctive symbol, a bright color, an explicit layout of info and a unitive serial system of package will help Wellmind to solve the problem, where consumers are able to recognize and pick up the products from far away. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Using of CPP matte film, the graph of the Mobius Band is printed gradiently with a same spot color as the numbers of color is limited and the printing on film is challenging itself. The gradient effect makes the band more detailed and exquisite. Silver printing partly brings a different texture of the matte film, and allows a more flexible usage when it comes to serial products. Bamboo tissue are subsequently produced to meet the needs. The faster growth of bamboo avoids wood waste. Also, bamboo fiber is more tenacious and water-absorbent, which helps reduce dust pollution from wood pup paper. Hence, Wellmind's environmental products provide more choices for consumers. CHALLENGE: To make a profound impression in consumers' mind, a brand's implication and its product's selling points must echo with on another when displayed on package. The idea of environmental friendliness, healthy lifestyle and tenacious fiber, showcased on package, are supposed to create a sentimental connection. Therefore, Mobius Band is depicted to make an impression and convey message.
