PRIMARY FUNCTION: Carbonate Beverage
INSPIRATION: The symplified J therefore enables a usage of quadrilateral continuity,which can be applied and spread easily and widely.An engraving discus-thrower, Discobolus,is portrayed to showcase sportsmanship, energetic and powerful.As for the color, the original tone is kept and enlarged on the package,which aims to strikingly convey the feeling of strength.The layout design is refined with useful digits visualized and effective information well-organized,which turns out to be dynamic and legible.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Other than newly produced, Jianlibao citrus-flavored sodas is a typical beverage product of 40 years history. A nationwide childhood memory comes with Jianlibao and the producer, consequently, becomes a miniature of modern Chinese enterprises developing history. With this new design, previous 20-year-old package is refreshed, which then allows the product to communicate with its new consumers and brings along their delightful childhood memory.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The use of the super symbol is going to be helpful and functional when Jianlibao is sold online and offline. Plus the use of quadrilateral continuity, the J can be seen most largely and frequently, which thus, triggers more consumption and also a surprising memory effect.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project lasts 2 month, designed in Shenzhen and produced in Foshan, Guangdong.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The PET bottle is reshaped into a smooth body with round cross section, whose size is getting smaller upwards. It enlarges the size where package design can be shown. The silk-screen matte film provides a more stable holding experience and a better feel.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Jianlibao is the earliest beverage producer majoring on sport drinks and carbonate drinks. It was once popular nationwide and most Chinese older than 20 years old have a memory of it, for which Jianlibao is dubbed as Chinese Cola. Sadly with the aggressive entrance of the two industry giants, pepsi and coke cola, Jianlibao needs a brand new package to attract more attention and gain the target consumers.
CHALLENGE: Chinese has all consumed Jianlibao in old days and the brand was imprinted on their minds. How to balance an old memory and a modern consumption needs? The representing color of Jianlibao, orange, is reserved and enhanced with an enlargement of use. Meanwhile, the super symbolic mark of J is simplified into a sharp and youthful geometric figure, which helps rejuvenate the brand.
