Revolve Safer

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Bicycle

INSPIRATION:
My experience of locking bike led me to come up with this project. Bicycles are easy to steal even though user carries a bike lock. I was inspired by brake pads to design a bike that combines a lock with a bicycle. The structure will make this bike be damaged if the lock is picked. This will reduce the risk of bike theft and users will no longer need to buy bike locks.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This is a safe bike design. The unique about this design is that it has own locks. When the user locks this bike, just turn the handlebars and the front wheel will lock. If a thief wants to steal it, he had to break the handlebars or the front wheel. This will make the bike would not be able to ride. So this design will reduce the rate of bicycle steal. At the same time, users do not need to buy additional locks and do not need to bend over to lock the bike, making it more convenient for users. It is also different in the public bike parking, the width of the general bike can accommodate three folded Revolve Safer. This design can also improve the space utilization in public bike parking area.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
When it needs to stop, turn its handlebars and the front wheel will be locked. Then lock the handlebars with the keys. The whole process only takes a few seconds. When you need to ride, use the key to open the handlebars and the lock on the front wheel will open. Then fixed the handlebars with keys and keep handlebars are no longer rotated, which can be used as an ordinary bicycle.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in April 2019 in Anhui and finished in May 2019 in that place, and was exhibited in Shantou in June 2019.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The material of bicycle frame is aluminum alloy. Have abilities of medium strength, good plasticity and excellent corrosion resistance. Especially, it has good weldability, corrosion resistance and cold working. Suitable for complex processing of Revolve Safer.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Today, the bike has become indispensable in people's daily life. But the design of vehicle bicycle is not convenient: lock carrying mode has many problems, the lock is easy to lose, to lock the bicycle very uncomfortable. This design is aimed at solving this problem.

CHALLENGE:
This is an innovative design with a complex internal structure, and the machining qualification rate is the biggest challenge encountered by this project.
