Interview with Ai Ling Tian at Saturday 2nd of May 2020 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AT: The inspiration comes from the owner and his wife. AT: The main focus is the satisfaction of the owner and the presentation of the landing effect.I want to show you a new Chinese style. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? AT: In the future, we are more confident to do a good job in Chinese style and let it go to the world. More people pay attention to Chinese design and understand the historical elements of China. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AT: From design to final presentation, the project went on for a year. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AT: The owner entrusts, unifies their family's hobby and the idea, and has integrated some own ideas. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? AT: NO FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? AT: Too many good people can attract me. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AT: Someone who can talk together and recognize your design. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? AT: For me, every work is different, because the needs of the people you are facing are different, specially customized for them. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? AT: Positive and intuitive expression of Chinese elements。 FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? AT: CAD PPT 3Dmax FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? AT: The bare and simple space is supported by calligraphy elements, and the frame selection of furniture and lamps is also integrated into the sense of Chinese characters and strokes to inject a humanistic and artistic atmosphere. The dark green comes from the quiet bamboo forest, the light and shadow of the virtual and the real, and dilutes the disturbance of the outside world. Stroll gently, rest in it, outline a quiet feeling. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? AT: Better presentation of design scheme to the owner FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? AT: No FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AT: Space planning, soft matching, Chinese elements into the scene FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? AT: I have known this event for a long time. Every year, I will take part in various famous events in China. This time, I want to go out and learn with better people. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? AT: Every design will have a lot of feelings from the end of landing. Most of the time, we need to ensure the effect and also put ourselves in the customer's shoes.
