Interview with Thanatos Digital Agency at Monday 4th of May 2020

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
TD: The web design choice is certainly based on the new Ui trends but contaminated by elements that come from the new horror, fantasy and sci-fi Tv series and films. The result is an easy site that transmits attention to detail, professionalism and the agency's dark mood.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
TD: The structure of the pages and contents has been designed to improve the user experience on all devices. We wanted to reach an easy site that transmits attention to detail, professionalism and the agency's dark mood.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
TD: We are an agency in constant evolution, and the fact that in one year our site has already undergone a restyling is proof of this. It was a satisfaction for us to have received this award, which will surely end up in our hall of fame, and will push us to do even better.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
TD: This site is part of a larger brand restyling project, and took about four months of work, from July to October 2018.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
TD: After three years of activity, the site we had no longer adequately represented us, so we decided to redesign it completely from scratch.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
TD: The need to have a site that fully represents us, and that managed to convey the seriousness and professionalism that we have achieved over the years.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
TD: The site is aimed at all small and medium-sized businesses with big dreams and prospects; agencies and freelancers looking for reliable creative partners.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
TD: Web design was made combining Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Xd. Developed mainly in html, css and php.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
TD: It is a site that highlights the contents, thanks to its simple structure. Consequently, quality content makes the difference; in our case we believe we have excellent case histories that match this type of design.

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
TD: The two founders and art directors of THANATOS Digital Agency collaborated in symbiosis on this particular project.

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
TD: This webpage is designed as a responsive website with Adobe XD. It will scale proportionately according to browser size and device types. The design is enhanced by advanced css effects like glitches and animated gradients.

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
TD: Surely one of the aspects that prompted us to want to make a restyling of our site was the analysis of Google Analytics data, which were fundamental to identify the structure of the new site. The research on the UI trends of the moment was fundamental to achieve a clean and functional result. The goal was to maintain the agency's dark-epic mood without compromising clean design. A large part of the research was also carried out on the use of color contrasts on dark backgrounds, to avoid compromising the legibility of the information contained in the pages.

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
TD: To combine the minimal and dark Ui solution with the best user experience on all devices.

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
TD: We had been thinking about taking part in some important design contest for a while, and when we received the invitation to participate in the A ’Design Award on Behance, we took it as a sign of destiny.

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
TD: Working on yourself is one of the most difficult things in the world, you have to strive to be as objective and impartial as possible.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
