Interview with Hsianglin Tseng at Tuesday 21st of May 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? HT: The inspiration of these series are from the childhood memory and life. I always live in different place, like my relatives, friends. The series recorded the moment I felt something alone. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? HT: Be honest to my life. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? HT: Continue the illustration column. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? HT: One painting a month. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? HT: I decide to pursuit an inspiration. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? HT: Yes, I plan to sell them or intent to produce my work myself? FS: What made you design this particular type of work? HT: I want to capture the emotions in my life. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? HT: The column readers. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? HT: My personal style. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? HT: The name of the column is " Self-Propelled Artillery of The Bathroom ", because there is the most honest moment when I see myself in the mirror of the bathroom. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? HT: pencil, color pencil, ink, water color, photoshop FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? HT: My personal style. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? HT: Highlights the emotions in the pictures. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? HT: To break away redundant interpretation and keep the simple thing in memory. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? HT: My friend encouraged me to present my works to the world. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? HT: Keep drawing is the most lucky thing to me.
