Interview with Amir Cherni at Thursday 18th of April 2019

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
AC: Creating a post-apocalyptic design that induce peoples to imagine the diverse post-apocalyptic scenery, thing that could impact their habits and make them more aware about their Ecological Footprint.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
AC: The design was inspired by industrial workspaces and abandoned warehouses. The primary challenge was to design a detailed interior concept that proudly displays the building materials that many try to hide. The decorations and materials present the essence of a raw, unfinished design look

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
AC: We are actually working on the adaptation of this concept on an old factory . it still on paper until we get the client approval .

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
AC: About a full month to design it and to render all the shots

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
AC: The project started as the a 3D Visualisation concept to be used as a base model in our online training specialized in architectural visualisation. After the publication of the projects visualizations, some investors were interested in adapting the design on an abandoned metal factory

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
AC: I plan to adapt it to some industrial spaces if i find an interested investor

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
AC: it was inspired by one of the biggest visual attraction in the designed space .. the central bar which is centred between two skulls heads .

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
AC: Most of the 3D work was made using Autodesk 3Ds Max and Chaosgroup Vray

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
AC: Thanks to the huge improvements in renderings software that allows us to reach an unbelievable level of realism

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
AC: Transforming unwanted industrial objects to showpieces represent a considerable challenge in this design as most of the decorative objects were naturally inspired from industrial wastes.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
