Interview with EMARA DESIGNS at Thursday 25th of April 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? ED: The main principle of my design is the Container , and the inspiration behind my design was the public strives for modernity , And that’s why Emara Designs team wanted to think out of the box. The design is completely unique and inspiring experience for users. The project main intention was to bring a forgotten corner of the city back to life . FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? ED: My main focus was to minimize the impact of construction on the site because the owner of this land bought it with 45,000,000 l.E . after that we found a big problem , this land is in the highway , and the Egyptian code instructions is to leave 16 m without building and 10 m non-concrete buildings area , so i wanted to use the available land in a creative way and make a successful design . FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? ED: It takes about three months for the design . FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? ED: I designed it because it was the best choice for the project area and also i wanted to support my concept with recycled materials because Recycling is important in today’s world if we want to leave this planet for our future generations . So , i used the container which was transformed into a stylish coffee bar and other recycled materials such as Gravel to prevent noises , Concrete Floors , Glasses , Epoxy Floors , Stones , Wood and Pipes . FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? ED: definitely i intent to produce my work myself . FS: What made you design this particular type of work? ED: the shipping container is a very suitable idea for land of the project , it didn't take big construction on the site and in the same time container was transformed into a stylish coffee bar. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? ED: No . its all designed by Emara Design Studio team . FS: Who is the target customer for his design? ED: The design target people who want live a different experience ,its completely unique and inspiring experience for users. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? ED: The container was transformed into a stylish coffee bar. A wooden ceiling was built in, concealing the original industrial steel surface to create a warm, cozy ambiance. In contrast, the external facade retains its original industrial aesthetic. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? ED: Le Reve mean the dream but in the french language ,and we choose it because its so near for the concept . FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? ED: I used 3Dmax ,Autocad , Photoshop for the 3D design . FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? ED: No , its all designed by Emara Design studio team . FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? ED: yes . its a smart design . FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? ED: Of course ,A big part of the research was about how to make the whole project with recycled materials ,because Recycling is important in today’s world if we want to leave this planet for our future generations. It is good for the environment, since we are making new products from the old products which are of no use to us , When you think of recycling you should really think about the whole idea; reduce, reuse and recycle FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? ED: The challenge for this project was both place and the project materials .The goal was to minimize the impact of construction on the site and make a unique design . FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? ED: I gained experience in other fields of design such as how to use recycled materials in a perfect way and make it beautiful and unique .
