Interview with Nikolai Tsupikov at Monday 20th of May 2019

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
NT: very simple and uncluttered lines which can create an impressive style

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
NT: As I work mostly in the interior design I saw lack of items of this style, so I decided Snodo can be fit in very well

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
NT: I truly hope that there will be a manufacture established

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
NT: It took me approximately 1 month

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
NT: I seek the inspiration

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
NT: I would like to sell the rights of production

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
NT: I suppose those shapes and materials are easy to work with.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
NT: This particular design is trendy in the last several years and as I think the most recognisable are works of Gessy manufacturer

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
NT: I think it is for interior designers

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
NT: Original details and nuances

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
NT: Snodo name is originally Italian and means «hinge», that was the first association that came to my mind

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
NT: I used Autocad, 3dMax

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
NT: The most unique aspect of my design is the faucet lever

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
NT: I worked alone

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
NT: This particular project doesn’t need the use of sophisticated technology

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
NT: I usually see the tendencies of the design items market and regularly make researches myself

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
NT: I didn’t face any obstacle during the work

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
NT: I like the final product and would like to present it to the general and professional public

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
NT: I started to understand better the way faucets

FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
NT: I think there are no questions
