FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
FR: I look for the interactivity of the user, the piece and the space, always focusing on the affective memory in my creations.
FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
FR: I always think of functionality, beauty and durability. In addition to refer to the cart bars of the Brazilian houses.
FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
FR: Create more designs with these meanings, in a more excellent way.
FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
FR: I believe that our inspirations come with the baggage we bring through life. Everything we sow we reap, if we read good books, watch good movies, listen to good songs, good things we will do. Naturallly.
FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
FR: I decided for this inspiration.
FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
FR: Its under production by another company.
FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
FR: Inspiration in affetive memory and interactive furniture.
FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
FR: The brazilian masters designers. Zalszupin, Sergio Rodrigues, Tenreiro. And classic masters, Aalto, Mies, Le Corbusier.
FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
FR: People who lives in 80's and under.
FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
FR: The inovation, materials and the light forms.
FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
FR: Vello it's a nickname for velocity, because of the "movement" boldness by the piece.
FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
FR: Sketches, Autocad and Keyshot.
FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
FR: Lightness
FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
FR: The engineers of the Industry that bought this design.
FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
FR: Contrast of the forms, the lightness and the structuring of the piece, were the biggest challenges.
FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
FR: I researched the common furniture in the 70s and 80s in Brazilian homes, in addition to the formats of bars of the time.
FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
FR: Structure of the piece, balancing between form and estability.
FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
FR: Because it is a door for new projects, visibility and development of the profession.
FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
FR: Aprendi muito no processo, sobre estrutura, mobiliário brasileiro, e composição de materiais.
