Interview with Zooco Estudio at Tuesday 23rd of October 2018

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
MC: The purpose of the design was to generate a spaces by geometry. This geometry evocates the wine imaginary, from the shapes of the barrels, vaults and curvilinear cellars, to the aging material of wine, which is none other than wood.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
MC: We wanted to create a interior and spatial design through the repetition of elements with as architectonic character.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
MC: To be able to create others spaces related to this theme, from different points of view.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
MC: Two months approximately.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
MC: The client has not a concrete idea, therefore we tried to design a different and atractive space without strong references to other designs.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
MC: no

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
MC: We face every project as a particular challenge.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
MC: It exists many good designers and project that help us in order to create designs

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
MC: A wine and design lover

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
MC: I am sure that it has many similarities and differences to other projects

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
MC: The client chose the name

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
MC: In the beginning we used hand drawings, afterwards, we used 2D and 3D softwares.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
MC: The generated atmosphere

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
MC: The whole design and development was carried out inside the studio

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
MC: without a doubt, the technology facilitates the development of the project with a complex geometry.

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
MC: It is not influenced by that.

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
MC: The assembly of the different parts of the wooden arches was the most delicate part of the process.

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
MC: We thought that the design has posibilities to be laureate

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
MC: The concepts, if they are applied with discipline and effort, can become reality

FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
MC: No
