Interview with Max Bessone at Monday 30th of April 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? MB: Make people feel inspired by Nature. Biomimetics seeks sustainable solutions to human challenges by emulating nature’s patterns and strategies. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? MB: I have designed this collection to be a daily reminder for us to wear our ‘personal best’ suit in order to accentuate the unique creatures we are. SUITED carries a positive message using nature as a metaphor, where animals and suits are combined into a reflection of ourselves. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? MB: I don't have anything planned. But I hope this award will bring more creative art works on my path. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MB: It took few months to find the look I was looking for. In particular, I did spend many hours with the research of all the components I needed before to design the artworks. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? MB: It was not commissioned, I just had an idea while talking to my partner about biomimetics and I decided to develop the concept into artworks to inspire others. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? MB: The collection is already available for sale on www.suited.design These limited editions, come with a certificate label marked by a wax stamp, and are hand titled and signed. As proven from the Golden A' Design Award, they have a great visual impact on everybody who observe them which is the guarantee that these art pieces will generate many other comments through the years, adding value beyond money. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? MB: It was a personal reason. The four paintings are to me the depiction of the personalities of my partner's brother and sisters. They all have something that makes them unique, and I wanted these paintings be able to capture those uniqueness. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? MB: Anyone can be a potential costumer. Suited Designs have been made to evoke emotions and I believe that every painting will find tits own owner. Through its representational design every piece generates feelings that emphasise the unique creatures we are, creating a magnetic connection with the observer. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? MB: Yes. I did come up with the name with the help of my partner. I wanted something that could describe the visual but also the metaphoric action of wearing our ‘personal best’ suit in order to accentuate the unique creatures we are FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? MB: These fine art pieces have been digitally designed with Adobe Illustrator and printed on white, fine poly-cotton blend, matte canvas. Then, each artwork has been treated individually with acrylic colours by myself to create a unique piece. No two designs are the same. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? MB: The design is not the deciding factor for me, but rather my motivation behind it.
