Interview with CHIA-HUI LIEN at Sunday 8th of April 2018

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
CL: The theme of this work is an individual visual design creative exhibition, and it signifies that in the course of learning, I "start from scratch".

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
CL: The designer's persistence in design and creation bring about the aesthetic connection of the designer and nurture the creative inspiration of the designer. The double-circle graphics of the primary visual design are based on the concept of zero, starting point, goal, and ideal. The color plan is black to silver grey, which highlights the changes of the double circle from the inside to the outside. The metaphor describes the evolution and growth of the creator in the design process. Series Wen Xuan's works are all based on the concept of visual identity system design, and will be a complete presentation of the image of the solo exhibition.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
CL: If this work is awarded, in addition to accumulating experience, it will also be the power of my future creation of more works.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
CL: It takes about 1 month to design this work.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
CL: The designer's persistence in design and creation bring about the aesthetic connection of the designer and nurture the creative inspiration of the designer.

CL: This is my own creation.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
CL: This is my heart-felt design.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
CL: I feel the inspiration of design from my life.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
CL: Everyone.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
CL: This design is because it is from the heart of the creation, so it is not the same as the general commercial design, more emphasis on the design of the individual soul level.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
CL: The theme of this work is an individual visual design creative exhibition, and it signifies that in the course of learning, I "start from scratch," whether in the creative process, in the practice of design, as every design is the beginning of my creation, from the past to the present, from the present to the future.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
CL: Adobe Illustrator. CorelDRAW.

CL: Not working with people.

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
CL: In this work, I use special colors to express my works. I hope to draw attention to it visually. This is my first attempt to design.
