My plans is always get better and better because one product that is used by people is never na ended job but something in devellopment. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? JJ: This concept was design for more or less 2 months. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? JJ: I had to adapt my inspiration to the Smart Logo already created. But despite that it was my inspiration to create the identity to the brand using the parts of the logo and it was my pursuit to risk and create something completely different. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? JJ: This design was made for Smart Consulting where I currently work so the rights belong to the company and not myself. However I have an agreement that alouds me to use my designs within the company as my own Works too. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? JJ: The Smart concept that I introduce in the company which was lead to iconography as it is a very easy way of creating something unique and related to IT companies. The design started in the work environment/ office design and the whole brand identity and it followed for the main platforms of the company (this website, nearshoring one and the blog) however 2 of those projects are still not online. Just this one in order to participate in this award. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? JJ: I don't have any other team members but I do see a lot of websites everyday and I get inspired by many different people that design their Works themselves. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? JJ: We have three mais targets: 1 - our clients and other companies who might want to become our clients - corporations that need IT services 2 - our consultants and all the informatic engineer who might want to work with us 3 - random people who don't know about smart and might become interested with our website in order to communicate or recomend our services to a friend who might be a client or a future consultant for us FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? JJ: It has his unique symbold, icons, patterns and it is very attentive to the words and how they relate with icons and images FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? JJ: It is the name of the company and all the concept (Smart design) was based in the fact that the company name is Smart consultancy FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? JJ: Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? JJ: The iconography and the tools used to used them in the online context FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? JJ: Yes, a developer FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? JJ: It is very importante because we are designing for an IT company, for IT people so this is the main problem that I'm still working on. The first developer was gone before the Project ended and we have some usability issues to solve that I'm working on with my new team member so that there are no usability problems because that is something very important and crucial for any website, specially this one that it is about TECHnology. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? JJ: Yes, I have checked during my design process a lot of different data about design thinking, UX researsh; design new concepts; buttons and different things that work better or worse in online environment FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? JJ: Real and Completely Equal adaptation and visualization in all different browsers and devices FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? JJ: My CEO send it to me as a challenge and I do love challenges so I focus my work to be able to complete website in time to participate on you competition FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? JJ: As I am alone in this process in my Creative team (that doesn't exist) I asked to everyone around to give me feedback about what I was doing, as a user. I have read a lot and I have faced as possible some friends in the área about my work and listened to their feedback. I have made some changes based in all these feedback and I consolidate a lot of my choices and had to make some changes too. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? JJ: To win this prize would mean a lot to me as a certification of my talent and work. Thank you for the opportunity so far.
