Interview with Vrossis at Wednesday 19th of April 2017 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? KL: main idea came from the ancient Greek term ''Vrossis" which means nourishes, so a very good Cosmetic nourishes the skin and gives all the nutrients in order to healthy so in extension beautiful skin FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? KL: focus for our cosmetics was to stimulate all senses of human. one of them is sight so in order to stimulate this sense we want nice colours which in extension we use them not in luck. For example blue packaging is the moisturizing series, or green is the therapeutic series because green is the color of therapy. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? KL: we are going to improve the designs by adding new ''stimulating details on the packaging" . we already work on this matter. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? KL: about four months FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? KL: it was commissioned FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? KL: no . we already commercially registered it. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? KL: the need for simple and nice looking packaging. Simple things work better, like simple natural cosmetics. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? KL: yes we were a team of 6 people having a totally different background, so that gave us different viewing perspectives,as different customers. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? KL: all the people that care about themselves, and take care of their wellness, beauty and health. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? KL: the purpose of the concept is to create happy sentiments by stimulating the senses. so one of them is the sight by using appropriate happy colors in order to stimulate it, to create one happy feeling. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? KL: main idea came from the ancient Greek term ''Vrossis" which means nourishes, so a very good Cosmetic nourishes the skin and gives all the nutrients in order to healthy so in extension beautiful skin FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? KL: design tools came from lot of reading Japanese manga FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? KL: it is the crown bee simulation which means beauty and longevity because the king bee lives more years than worker bees, so that means health and longevity. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? KL: yes with two graphists FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? KL: most important because it gives deeper analysis to colors and like stated before , the use of happy colors stimulate senses and create feelings,which are crucial thing to buy a product FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? KL: other cosmetic packaging, and people sentiments under a course of behavioural cognitive therapy FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? KL: main was that all the team took a physiotherapy cognitive course in order to realize how to stimulate senses for happy thoughts and feelings FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? KL: it was proposed to us. we love artistic challenges. like it or not art is human existence FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? KL: as we stated we undergo a cognitive psychotherapy course FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? KL: no. thank you very much
