Interview with ZHENG SONGLING at Sunday 2nd of April 2017

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
SZ: The real experience of the customer knows that the real user thinking the customer's feelings, and how to keep our customers

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
SZ: "Do not think for the customer, but to stand in the customer's point of view." "For the sake of customers" and "stand in the customer's point of view" thinking at first glance similarities and differences, the results are poles apart. Because the "thinking for the customer" mode of thinking, the biggest problem is "deviating from the customer's real needs."

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
SZ: Look good design can be recognized for everyone

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
SZ: A night

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
SZ: The most important thing is that you use the product to the customer's entire process to have a full range of thinking

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
SZ: Work myself

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
SZ: Customers in your shop, why should he buy your product? In the purchase of products before, can not have money to buy, it has felt this product to bring his experience?

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
SZ: Nothing

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
SZ: Everything is not the customer experience as the core of the experience are playing rogue

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
SZ: Enhance the sense of experience of internal customers, stretching and enhance the experience of external customers experience. Because the experience of internal customers to enhance, and will naturally be passed to external customers

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
SZ: Name comes from: multidimensional, collection, fashion, art.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
SZ: The use of the design tools are: resonance, simple modern materials, retro art and painting to form a three-dimensional experience space

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
SZ: FOCO brings a new concept, it is more like a multi-dimensional Korean life experience hall, each region has its own theme, no matter what you like, can find that for their own entry point

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
SZ: No, the whole project a person to design and do on-site construction follow-up

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
SZ: Mainly when the installation of light, found on-site size, you can buy the size of the lamp and the original design will be different, the design according to the actual situation to be adjusted

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
SZ: Yes, I reserve a part of the original building wall according to the actual situation of the building space, so that the minimum cost reduction. Then, according to the architectural space for modular design, according to the 450*450*450 mm modulus for metal ceilings, walls, metal rack design, try to be unified and change

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
SZ: How to achieve low cost of the situation, you can achieve a win-win situation, but also can be innovative and have a sense of experience´╝ü

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
SZ: This is a fair, just, and reputable and can enhance the young designers of an international design platform

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
SZ: I learned the brand of the mode of operation, the importance of space experience and the artistic placement, can not design the importance of homogeneity! I will enhance the future can be more bold and efficient to create business space, with more knowledge to integrate business space design, so that the design language constantly updated and enhanced

FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
SZ: Commercial space display mode can be more diversified, and even increase the technology, vocal, cultural input and experience!
