FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
KC: The collection wants to bring more positive energy for everybody. Life is short, enjoy the life and possess beauty's heart are most important.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
KC: I want to design and development the product as fashion with creative. The creative products and ideas are very important for the world and everybody. This kind of unique and beautiful products could attract more people, especially celebrities in different countries to know about my brand and brand spirit, 'blend the rule'.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
KC: I want to design anything from my heart. I want to make this kind of products for getting people know that creativity is very important. It is comfortable, stylish, trendy and suitable for everybody. It is depended on how you use and wear it. For future, I will participate more on different design awards in the world.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
KC: I took that design with 2-3 months. It is because everything about the design from my heart.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
KC: I always design the products as unique and creative eyewear under Fashion Creative Collection for my brand (BIG HORN). I want to design some products for celebrities and fashionistas. Therefore, I always find the theme for my collection during reading or watching TV. For example, for butterfly model, I found that the negative energy is in the world now, because of down turn economy. Therefore, I want to bring the positive energy and feeling by using butterfly and bee from my collection to let everybody know that the environment changed, but we could work hard to change our life. Life is short, we have to enjoy our life everytime.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
KC: Yes, I produced that. I only made 5 pieces on that model which is under Fashion Creative Collection of my brand (BIG HORN). I reserved 1 pcs for myself, however it borrowed to the famous celebrities style house in Hollywood, U.S.A. for celebrities. They will wear it for photoshooting and video. Therefore, I reserved 4 pieces for sales, and hope to attract the celebrities and fashionistas to select it.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
KC: For my brand, I have 4 collections, including fashion creative, extravaganza, premium, and plus. Fashion Creative Collection is targeted the people who love fashion, creative, trendy, and like unique styles. This group of people, especially celebrities, always want the limited quantity design items from the market during my research. I would like to design and produce the styles for fulfilling their needs.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
KC: The Italian and French designers have influenced me on design, because they always design the special items.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
KC: The celebrities and fashionistas are my main target customers. However, this kind of design is good for everybody that it is depended the customers how to mix and match for styling themselves.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
KC: Many brand or products have a limited collection. This type of collection is always limited the quantity for production. However, the limited quantity for them is around 1000 pcs. It is not the good thing for my target customers, because they always scare to find that from the market easily. Therefore, I always produce 5 pcs on each model under this collection. It should be good for my target customers.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
KC: I named this design as Butterfly, because this is butterfly shape. Because I want to put more positive energy to everybody as based on my design, therefore I selected butterfly for this latest collection. Butterfly possess the beautiful wings when becoming adults from caterpillars. They are hardworking, beautiful, and enjoying the life.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
KC: I always design products by hand-sketching, and then I will use Adobe or Corel Draw to make the computer drawing for the factory.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
KC: The most unique aspect of my design is the butterfly shape. It is big, but it is easy to put on the face with comfort.

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
KC: I made the design only.

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
KC: The factory has different automation machinery that I could make the design easily.

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
KC: I used the secondary data from Internet, fashion magazines, and the forecasting trend from the suppliers to make my design, including color and design.

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
KC: The challenges on design is on the big butterfly shape, because it is not easy to wear. Therefore, I made the metal nose pads for adjustment. Customers / users could adjust the nose pads for fitting it on the face. Also, the titanium temples for cushion curve is very important too. If I used the traditional type of temples, it is not easy to fix it on the head.

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
KC: I received the invitation from A design awards. I knew this competition. It is very famous. Also, I won the International Design Awards for the other model from my collection. It encouraged me to participate in this competition in this year. It is so valuable and recogized.

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
KC: I always learn the design from book and magazines. Also, I try to search the data from Internet to evaluate what the market needs. Meanwhile, I always meet different suppliers to know more new materials and products that it could help me on the design. By the way, the important issue is the exchanges with fashion apparel designers. I knew many fashion apparel designers. We always talk about fashion and trend. There has many data to me for making my new designs.

FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
KC: nil
