Interview with Girish Pillai at Sunday 26th of February 2017 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? GP: as the site was located along the beachfront, the inspiration was drawn by the misty waves. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? GP: an iconic yet functional residential tower. An eye catching tower which blends with the surroundings. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? GP: to complete a good consultancy package and see through the construction process. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? GP: 15 to 20 days of time. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? GP: it was purely an inspiration after a brief site visit along the white sandy beach. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? GP: there is a possibility to sell or lease the production rights. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? GP: clients brief + location + inspiration FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? GP: not at all. 100% my creativity. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? GP: will be high end customers and who have a flair for lifestyle living. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? GP: its very site specific in terms of facade orientation, layout and elevations. the unit sizes have be customized according to market requirements and specific to ultra modern living.
