Interview with Sinan Anayurt at Sunday 17th of April 2016 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? SA: Main Idea; I was tought compact tractors must has good maneuverability. Because this machines work mostly in gardens and small roads. So, I designed Harman with palettes. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? SA: I worked for create an innovative and radical vehicle. Beacuse this machine must be unexpected for users. Thus, I decided use design a vehicle without wheels. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? SA: I think my design not just for me. I want people see my project. Now I got A'Design award and this is very big achivement for me. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? SA: 3 months. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? SA: This is a school project and tractor was in project tittle. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? SA: I produce myself this design. And I want sell to big companies, because if it will product and peoplle use this, my dream will come true. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? SA: Creating different and unproduct type a vehicle. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? SA: I got help my teachers because this is a school project. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? SA: Farmers. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? SA: Harman has old-style apparence. Because farmer people dont like futuristic forms, I think. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? SA: ''Harman'' means ''harvest'' in Turkish. This name very good fit my project. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? SA: Solidworks and Photoshop. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? SA: That body between two pallettes and old-style headlights. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? SA: No. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? SA: This design is use some untried technologies but this technologies not cant product. These are simple ideas. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? SA: Most important part of Harman was wheels form. I look other options, a lot of them used. I was looking new transportation forms. I decided use palette, tracked systems and combine with my damper idea. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? SA: The hardest part was, founding a uniqe and quick maneuverability for my vehicle. And when I found an idea it was actually so simple. It was palette. This tracked vehicle form most important part of Harman. Beacuse thanks this tracked form, now vehicle can turn quickly in little gardens or narrow roads. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? SA: I want sell this project to big companies. Beacuse if it will product my dream will come true. So, I decided join international award beacuse companies care award winner products. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? SA: I learn ''hard work mean good design'' and this design come with hard working. Now its win A'design award. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? SA: No.
