Interview with Taras Hooduskyy at Tuesday 26th of April 2016 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? TH: The main principle and idea was to create dynamic design. Design which makes people to move forward, to move to the future. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? TH: The main focus , I think, has been to create something new, to play with shapes. To make shapes visually move. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? TH: I'm student yet, this award is great achievement for me. In future I want to be interested by other designers and people. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? TH: The main shape I did in 1 hour, first sketches always most live and interesting. But for creating more detailed concept it took 3 or 4 month. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? TH: I think it was my emotional state then. I sketched first rapid straight line and went on. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? TH: No it isn't. It's my coursework in university. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? TH: I think , task that has been given to me made my design this particular type of work. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? TH: No it where not. I did it only myself. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? TH: There is no target custumer because it is my student work in university. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? TH: I think this design apart from other concepts by his crazy shapes. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? TH: I looked and thought what does it look like...Hmm it might look like arrow. And that's how the name came up. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? TH: At first sketches I used pencil and my sketchbook. Later I have exported it to 3ds max and rendered. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? TH: Light shapes and modern material FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? TH: No I did not. I did it only myself as concept. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? TH: I think there is main role of technology. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? TH: No it isn't. It`s only concept as project. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? TH: The main challenge was to hang all construction on the wall and cover it. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? TH: I saw in web about this contest and then decided to try to take part in. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? TH: I think every work improve myself and learn me something new. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? TH: there is no other things I`d like to cover.
