FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? AC: The name of this design comes from the understanding of the matter and space just by myself, in my opinion, design is create matters, matters will occupy space, space will have positive and negative, and for this project the form of the bar counter one is the positive and another one is negative, that's it. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? AC: Yafei Ma, she is one of my former students working with me for this design. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AC: Actually there are two obstacles have to overcome in the design process: one is how to control the overall shape, another is the complexity of processing. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? AC: One of the reasons is I really like the trophy design of this competition, it's quite beautiful.
