| Interview with Yazan Hijazin at Friday 22nd of April 2016 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? YH: A C-level client's problem. Manual Transition User interaction with a piece. A piece of furniture for a group, then it could be used for only one person. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? YH: To solve a client's problem of limited space and her need for 2 pieces of furniture, one to seat guests and another for her to relax end of day. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? YH: Looking to manufacture for a brand. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? YH: 10 Working Days. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? YH: Commissioned FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? YH: I would like to sell or lease the production rights. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? YH: Residential/Commercial FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? YH: Three positions-one for a group and 2 reclining positions. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? YH: Interaction/Multi-functionality/space-utilization FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? YH: Carpentry -Abdel Hadi.
