Interview with Wenzhi Liu at Tuesday 26th of April 2016 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? WL: Aesthetics from the East and the West.(inspiration based on knowledge,we oppose the use of unreliable inspiration) FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? WL: We are concerned about the impact of the work for the user. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? WL: We intend to promote,including the award. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? WL: Two months. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? WL: In the CBD to make a project more meaningful,but also by appointment. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? WL: Has been produced,on copyright when it is their own use,you can consider publishing. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? WL: Judgment on the local environment. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? WL: Exactly my idea. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? WL: The pursuit of customer is stylish and comfortable environment. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? WL: We blend of Chinese garden design space and rigorous design organization. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? WL: Principal name is determined,meaning reunion meal at the table FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? WL: Software CAD, 3Dmax ect. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? WL: Philosophical aspects to think about the meaning of space. The use of Eastern and Western aesthetics to construct. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? WL: We have a very professional staff collaboration: namely, Liangcai Chan, Qizhan Wong, Jianfang Liang, Jian Du, Lianan Chan, Keyun Meng, Xiaojuan Cai, Junlin Wu, Weijian Lu, Jiajia He. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? WL: Supporting role FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? WL: Analysis of the impact of our design all the time, to think about the feelings of humanity, our space includes each node, can be done clearly affect user. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? WL: Time is the biggest challenge FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? WL: We need to make good design rendered in a wider field of vision. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? WL: For strengthening our concept of a theory beyond the East and West. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? WL: No.
