Interview with Israel Lara at Monday 21st of September 2015 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? IL: Socio-economic trends is obligated to submit projects for the smart client that has clearly defined his everyday activities. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? IL: Provide a vital, low-cost, sustainable and harmonious space with nature. In addition to a new way of seeing the sustainable houses. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? IL: Present it to real estate entrepreneurs and promoting a sustainable culture. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? IL: Research and concept 3 months. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? IL: Anthropological observation and rescue of vernacular architecture. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? IL: Advise the institution showing respect to develop it. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? IL: The problem of affordable housing with bad designs and traditional and polluting materials. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? IL: In this particular case not. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? IL: Singles, families, tourism, artists and athletes. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? IL: Building material and system, modular system. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? IL: The natural material used is petrified salt similar to a marine "coral". FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? IL: Sketches, computer, different types of models. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? IL: The rescue of vernacular architecture through innovation. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? IL: Do not. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? IL: Design was prepared by hand and with models. Computer was used for drawings and renderings. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? IL: Analyze the behavior of people and respect for their lifes and family heritage. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? IL: Austere housing, pleasant and harmonious with nature. Unlike a cheap housing this housing is economic because maximum resources. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? IL: Analyzing A Desing award which offers creativity and innovation respecting the quality of design. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? IL: Ethical awareness and permanent evolution and also offering to low-income society housing with dignity. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
