Interview with LEE eun kyoung at Sunday 8th of March 2015 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? EL: My sister gave birth to a child. Is my first nephew. Lovely us nephew sister was breastfeeding. The first time I saw trying to join the breastfeeding breastfeeding cushion and sofa cushion Was attempted. (The warmth and stable image in my mind pull a smile) was also thinking about the combination of the sofa and looking at the doll doll body pillow on my bed. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? EL: Happiness and comfort to the lonely, lonely people FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? EL: Because the sofa gives the feeling of being alive, it will hold you warm and soft like your mother, friend, and a lover without feeling lonely. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? EL: Because they are flexible and free, users can wind the arms around themselves after they sit on the sofa. Because of that, the extension arms have the effect of providing the stability to users to have a comfortable and relaxing time. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? EL: They are both concentric and I have been dreaming of the concentric inherent in its purity. In hardness and urban chaos of the world, people are going to live a pure emptiness forgotten childhood relax. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? EL: Use a little more lightly implemented easily in both commercial and want to make it easy to be used. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? EL: It will present the dream of innocent childhood by giving the feeling of the soft heart of mother or the arms of the doll wrapping around you in your childhood. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? EL: Because they are flexible and free, users can wind the arms around themselves after they sit on the sofa. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? EL: The cushion was put on the sofa before but this product combined the sofa and the cushion which moves freely. Accordingly, the usability is unlimited for user preference. It can provide a play material to children, a plastic sheet or a laptop pad to teenagers, the convenience of breast-feeding to the mother, the warm stomach to women, and the comfortable back to the elderly. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? EL: The sofa is in a round shape by cutting the sponge and a pair of extension arms has the same material as the sofa with the fabric for the exterior material and the bending sponge for the interior material. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? EL: Observed many dolls, in order to express the warmth and concentric FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? EL: Every hair also suffered way too messy hair in disarray when the material part, but such material was very appropriate to show the warmth of a teddy bear. Use of different materials for the front part and the back in order to overcome such a problem, No expression (specific facial features and specific image - eyes, nose, mouth, fingers) efforts to put an image of the shape of a person or animal (simple, but to demonstrate that in a large number of images) FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? EL: Loved by more people FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
