Interview with Elia Pittavino at Saturday 7th of March 2015

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
EP: My design & naming inspiration came up by the ancient undisclosed worlds, iconic & mythological constructions as well as futuristic design buildings. The logo is carachterized by the strong A central letter that is the mark of arcAdia. The mark itself is linked up with the celtic "awen" glyph symbol that, also in the modernity, refers to the poetic & spitirual illumination.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
EP: My main focus was to concept & design a bottle with a shape that could speak also to the fashion and luxury audience.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
EP: My future plans for my arcAdia concept bottle are to spread up the project in order to get the concept known and find possible business & production opportunities.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
EP: The idea came up in the last months of 2014 and after that initial period I've kept in my mind the concept collecting inspirations & thoughts.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
EP: My design started with an idea that I've decided to pursuit & develop on my own in order to get it real.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
EP: My Idea is to produce my concept leasing the production rights.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
EP: I've started designing this project with the luxury world and designs in my mind as I've always been fascinated by the effectiveness of the clean & sophisticated products.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
EP: As I've mentioned before my inspiration came up mosty from the luxury world & designs.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
EP: My target customer is mainly the fashionista & in in general the luxury goods buyer.

EP: arcAdia is an Italian Vodka, recognizable worldwide as an excellence synonym. The concept speaks up with a an evocative & the design that carry itself a functional shape, easy to handle shape and be served up.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
EP: The name of this design came as a spakle after several time of research in the alcoholic beverages world & design in general. The name links up with the ancient world of the poetic academy & movement "Arcadia" that was estabilisherd in Italy to promote the elegance & simplicity of the classic poetry in contrast with the baroque one.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
EP: To work on this project I've used Adobe Illustrator for the logo design, MAXON CINEMA 4D for the 3d bottle model & renderings, Adobe Photoshop fot the post production & editing.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
EP: The most unique aspect of my design is in my opinion the shape of the bottle made by a polygonal base & flat slightly rotated faces.

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
EP: As Elia Pittavino I'm the only ideator of this project.

EP: The technology in an artificial meaning takes no part in my project & concept at this stage. However the technology from a Packging design point of view takes part in the gift packaging that is studied to be opened by twisting the main part and holding up the base, when normally grabbed & carried out for transportation the package remains closed.

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
