Interview with KATERINA KAVAZI at Sunday 23rd of February 2014 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? KK: The overall design concept is based on the shape of the body of the wale as the main inspiration behind the design. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? KK: To use this fluid lines at this living room in order to design a dynamic interior space. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? KK: Continue designing interior spaces. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? KK: 2 days for the concept and a month for all the construstion drawings. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? KK: This design was commissioned and also was that I decide to pursuit an inspiration. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? KK: no. this design is only for this project. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? KK: The client commission me and I also want to design a good work. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? KK: no FS: Who is the target customer for his design? KK: Someone who want to renovate/design his space. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? KK: Beacuse of the design concept. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? KK: CAD FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? KK: no FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? KK: I want to compet with more people in the international arena.
