Interview with angelo senatore at Friday 27th of September 2013 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AS: win an oxymoron: separate without interfering FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? AS: minimize the central node, of coupling, between the sliding sashes FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? AS: convey the new award, through a web-marketing campaign FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AS: 6 month FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AS: pure inspiration, one day I was on the roof of the house to play with the kids and in a moment of pause I began to draw FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? AS: we produce our design ourselves FS: What made you design this particular type of work? AS: the desire to stand up FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? AS: No, there aren't FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AS: anyone who wants to surround himself with a window design FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? AS: our design was the first of its kind and still represents the smallest coupling between sashes FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? AS: The name of the product, Live, evokes what it promises: to live the outside even from inside the house FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? AS: first of all the pencil and then cad tools FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? AS: only 17mm coupling between sashes FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? AS: No, I studied everything alone FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? AS: Very high, every detail has been carefully studied, referring to the most efficient materials FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? AS: No FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AS: The biggest challenge has been able to ensure the sealing performance in just 17mm FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? AS: to give greater visibility to the product FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? AS: I learned that you have to be close to the ideas for develop it FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? AS: I think that's everything. thanks
