Interview with Riten Gojiya at Monday 15th of April 2013

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
RG: I design this airship for creative people who often likes traveling alone and wanna explore the beauty from new perspective.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
RG: I wanted to achieve a self explainable concept which can excite people by just looking at its design.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
RG: I would like to see this project in reality probably I'll need a group of people to solve all the technical issue and make it possible.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
RG: It has been a very short journey from the the research to the final integration shots. it took me three week to complete this project but for me it is just a beginning of something new.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
RG: From the beginning only I was determined to achieve something which is beyond my skills ,knowledge and imagination so I think It is a fun project which has helped me grow .

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
RG: yes I wold love to convert this in to real production version airship but not sure If I'd get enough money and time to achieve that.may be can lease the production rights.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
RG: Promotion of true beauty and giving a joyful experience was initial inspiration for me.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
RG: Yes Fortunately I've had a workshop in prague with Thomas balle and Hong jean who helped me solving some practicality issues and controllers and maneuverability.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
RG: The target customer is a tourist who can rent this for per day or per hour.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
RG: Minimalistic approach and the way it complements the gauthic architectural style is a unique point. It uses the self morphing methods to maneuver around the city.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
RG: It means another dimension or perspective to experience the bohemian beauty.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
RG: Sketching, Origami, Photoshop, Catia v6 natural sketch and imagine and shape.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
RG: User experience is the most unique aspect.

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
RG: I am a design student at DSK ISD International school of design and working with trainers and designers helps me alot in my rational thinking.

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
RG: Technology is one of the important piece of puzzle in my design.

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
RG: I went through ample of videos, documentries about czech republic and bohemian beauty, and the various aspects of Helium balloon.

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
RG: The manufacturing of all the material in a way that the assembly becomes easy. The product has to have two functionality 1.hovering 2.moving slowly between architectures.

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
RG: I think it is the best way to get feedback on my design and to evaluate my thought process which eventually helps me become a good designer.

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
RG: This project has helped me expressing my thinking and imagination through my sketches and poetry.
