Interview with Arman Abadi at Thursday 31st of October 2013 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AA: design an aircraft with ability to fly and landing in vertical direction anywhere and using the solar energy to be more Efficient in fuel consuming and easy steering FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? AA: engine rotation and open the rear engine gate to fly in vir and horz direction FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? AA: stronger and lighter engines, and improve it to use as an uav FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AA: 6 months FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AA: it was my dream an aircraft with such abilities and every thing about including idea and Decision this project where on my own FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? AA: it will be nice if could sell its right FS: What made you design this particular type of work? AA: interest FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? AA: vertical aircraft like jf23 and solar systems FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AA: for ordinary guys and have usage to use as an entertainment FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? AA: no FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? AA: vertical solar aircraft FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? AA: photo impact and 3dmax FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? AA: rotation engines FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? AA: no body , no FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? AA: a computer sys to helping the pilot and solar panel to produce power and high performance electric engins FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? AA: research about birds wing Aerodynamics and solar panels working progress FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AA: design the gate of beck engine to protect the aerodynamic performance during horizontal fly FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? AA: to test myself and my idea in a real competition FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? AA: knowledge about solar panels and small aircraft steering systems FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? AA: using the solar panel and high performance engines make this kind of aircraft able to use in many purposes
