| Interview with Wei Hu at Saturday 17th of May 2025 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? WH: The fluid spatial philosophy employs a dual-circulation layout, with the central collaborative hub surrounded by window-side quiet zones to minimize distractions. By visibly integrating corporate culture into product and workspace design, employee creativity is enhanced—drawing inspiration in part from sci-fi cinematic aesthetics and research on future workplace behaviors. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? WH: The workspace is divided into collaborative dynamic zones and quiet static areas, allowing employees to immerse themselves in a sci-fi-inspired yet naturally comfortable environment that enhances both work experience and efficiency FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? WH: The future demands redefining the relationship between people and workspaces as soon as possible through cutting-edge technologies and innovative materials FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? WH: I spent fifteen days working on it. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? WH: The client hoped to integrate the product with the office environment, and the business model of the outsourcing party provided excellent inspiration. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? WH: Yes, I have worked on design projects for numerous other companies, and my designs are currently being implemented by the client firms that commissioned them. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? WH: Each project involves different clients with unique design purposes FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? WH: Yabu FS: Who is the target customer for his design? WH: Project clients for hotels, apartments, and residential properties worldwide FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? WH: This design integrates product display with work settings, distinguishing itself from conventional office space concepts. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? WH: The project name is determined by the client. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? WH: Pinterest、Photoshop、AutoCAD FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? WH: The design employs advanced materials and innovative technologies, while optimizing spatial arrangements. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? WH: We partner with metal wall system manufacturers, assembling specialized technical teams with diverse expertise for each project. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? WH: Higher-precision installation and implementation FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? WH: Yes, optimal wind speed, temperature, and illuminance—especially airflow direction and lighting angles—significantly impact human comfort. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? WH: New material applications may face initial implementation challenges. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? WH: I hope to connect with top-tier industry peers while gaining visibility and recognition for my design work. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? WH: Focusing on new technologies and materials, then quickly applying them to designs can make a significant difference.
