FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
JL: The WoodFire Collection is inspired by the raw elegance of fired wood. It tells the story of transformation – raw material shaped and reborn through the trial of fire. Drawing from the timeless beauty of wood, each piece is a unique work of art that embodies the strength and elegance of fire-kissed timber. WoodFire captures the warmth and rustic charm of a cozy fireplace, bringing a welcoming ambience to any setting. Handcrafted to achieve an authentic wood-like aesthetic, WoodFire stands bold, evoking the essence of nature's power.
FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
JL: We captured the raw elegance of wood and translated it into ceramic — offering a design that is both timeless and practical.
FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
JL: WoodFire comes from its inspiration of the raw beauty of fired wood.
FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
JL: The handcrafted, two-part reactive glaze that creates unique, organic patterns mimicking the effect of fire on wood, ensuring no two pieces are alike.
FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
JL: We wanted to gain international recognition and share our collection with a global audience.
