Interview with Mohammad Meyzari at Saturday 19th of October 2024 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? MM: During the events and social movements in Iran about women, life, freedom, we designed the base inspired by the shape of a woman's body. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? MM: Showing the importance of women's position in society and raising family and children FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? MM: Showing and selling this work in global showcases FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MM: About 3 months FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? MM: This design started in my mind with the women's movement in Iran And it is a symbol of women's power FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? MM: This product is produced in limited quantities by my personal workshop But it would be great if we could mass produce this design with the help of a larger company FS: What made you design this particular type of work? MM: Living in the contemporary world requires new designs and materials to protect the environment This product fulfills both needs FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? MM: In most cases, we get inspiration from Iranian nature and architecture to design products FS: Who is the target customer for his design? MM: Candle lovers FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? MM: The ability to continuously charge this product and use durable fuel is one of the advantages of this design FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? MM: As I said before, the name of this product is inspired by the women's movement in Iran FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? MM: Rhino program FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? MM: The concept and story of this product FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? MM: yes One of my friends who is a design expert with Rhino program helped me in this design FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? MM: Using a 3D printer to make the initial version FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? MM: According to extensive research in the market, we noticed people's interest in using candles and came to the conclusion to design and produce a product that is environmentally friendly and does not have the defects of a normal candle. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? MM: Production of high quality glasses to complete the product FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? MM: Considering the specificity of the design and the uniqueness of the product's performance, I decided to participate in the competition FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? MM: The challenges of making this product made us face various factors, including environmental factors, hardware and manufacturing technology, and solving these things made us reach a higher level of capability.
