YW: I am very grateful for the affirmation given by the competition, and hope to make more excellent works in the future. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? YW: It took about half a year from design to physical production. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? YW: This piece is to participate in a furniture exhibition, inspired by my own ideas FS: What made you design this particular type of work? FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? YW: When making the entity, there are professional technical personnel to assist in the production. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? YW: Assist in making liquid acrylic table tops, including placing in the oven and polishing. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? YW: none FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? YW: The process of making a liquid acrylic tabletop needs to be put into the oven for heating, so the wood embedded in the acrylic must be very hard, otherwise the wood will be deformed during the heating process. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? YW: Thank you teacher for suggesting me to participate in this competition. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? YW: There will be a certain gap between the drawings that are often drawn and the actual production. Only through communication with the technical staff and changes in the design can the works get better and better.
