Polo Cafe BarPolo Cafe BarPolo Cafe Bar is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the traditional cafe experience through a sophisticated interpretation of polo sport aesthetics, located in Hsinchu, Taiwan. This 136-square-meter establishment, completed in April 2018, represents a harmonious fusion of dynamic sporting elements and refined coffee culture, designed by Hui Hsin Cheng and Yi Tseng Liu. The space's distinctive feature is its architectural interpretation of polo's kinetic elements, particularly evident in the ceiling's striking world map design composed of radiating golden metal lines that create compelling light and shadow interplay. The interior is thoughtfully divided into two main areas: a private sofa dining section adorned with polo-inspired accessories that evokes the ambiance of a British polo club, and a flexible dining area that accommodates varying group sizes. The design philosophy emphasizes sustainability through the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle, incorporating eco-friendly materials and implementing detachable, movable design elements that promote resource efficiency. The project, which earned an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial innovation through its transformation of polo's dynamic movements into architectural elements. The design successfully creates an atmosphere that balances sophistication with accessibility, featuring carefully curated details such as the radial arrangement of metal lines and strategic lighting that symbolizes the establishment's global perspective while maintaining intimate social spaces for patrons to enjoy coffee and conversation.
