Connections Residence

Connections Residence is an innovative residential interior design project completed in 2020 in Banqiao, New Taipei City, Taiwan, exemplifying a harmonious blend of postmodernism style and humanistic design principles. The 22-square-foot living space encompasses an entrance, dining room, living room, kitchen, multifunctional study, master bedroom, sub-master bedroom, and two bathrooms, showcasing a sophisticated integration of iron elements, woodwork, and contemporary design aesthetics. The design philosophy centers on facilitating family communication through thoughtful spatial transparency, reflected in the strategic use of glass partitions and flowing lines. Distinguished by its innovative approach to space optimization, the residence features custom-designed furniture solutions, including a cleverly integrated suspension cabinet system and reorganized study area that transforms limited spaces into functional, open environments. The interior's aesthetic character is defined by the interplay of iron framework elements, mirror surfaces with distinctive flow marks, carefully selected veneers, and aquamarine wallpapers that contribute to a light classical ambiance. Notable design solutions include the strategic relocation of the washbasin to optimize traffic flow and the integration of a dresser within private areas, demonstrating exceptional space planning capabilities. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, represents a significant achievement in residential interior design, particularly for its successful balance of aesthetic refinement and practical functionality. The design's emphasis on human-centric solutions and family connectivity, combined with its sophisticated material palette and space-saving innovations, establishes it as a noteworthy example of contemporary residential interior design excellence.
