Attimo Tea SetAttimo Tea SetAttimo Tea Set is an innovative and aesthetically sophisticated bone china tea service that exemplifies the intersection of philosophical concept and functional design. Created by designer Mikhail Chistiakov, this distinguished set embodies the metaphorical representation of a frozen moment in time, where the handle's impact creates rippling circles across the surface, reminiscent of water disturbances. The set, which won the Golden A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, comprises a teapot (600ml), sugar bowl (300ml), and cup (220ml), each featuring complex asymmetric forms that challenge traditional porcelain manufacturing techniques. The design's distinctive characteristic lies in its hollow handle technique and proactive correction of firing deformations, enabling the achievement of ideal geometry despite the challenging asymmetric structure. The choice of bone china as the primary material, selected for its superior control during the firing process and capacity for reduced wall thickness, demonstrates an advanced understanding of material properties and manufacturing constraints. The set's ergonomic design incorporates bionic-shaped handles with variable thickness, ensuring comfortable use while functioning as effective thermal insulators due to their hollow construction. This sophisticated tea service, developed between 2019 and 2020 in Saint-Petersburg, represents a harmonious blend of artistic vision and technical innovation, where the metaphor of stopped time is manifested in tangible form through the interplay of solid and fluid elements in the design. Author: Adam Dawson Keywords: tea set design, bone china craftsmanship, contemporary tableware, ergonomic handle design, minimalist porcelain, luxury kitchenware SOURCES: |
