Shangri La Red WineShangri La Red WineShangri La Red Wine is an innovative packaging design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Oriental aesthetics with contemporary wine presentation. This sophisticated design draws inspiration from the ancient grape vines of China's high-altitude regions, particularly interpreting the gnarled, weathered texture of old vine trunks through Chinese ink painting techniques. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, features a tripartite composition that cleverly incorporates local fauna as symbolic representations of environmental elements: butterflies symbolizing air, fish representing water, and pines depicting soil. The packaging utilizes eco-friendly kapok paper with distinctive convex pressing technology to recreate the tactile essence of aged vine bark, measuring 300mm in length, 90mm in width, and 90mm in height. This thoughtful design approach not only serves its primary function as wine packaging but also acts as an artistic statement on environmental conservation and cultural heritage preservation. The design's innovative use of traditional ink painting techniques creates a visual rhythm that mirrors the flow of wine, while the modular nature of the three-part design allows for both individual presentation and a cohesive combined display. Developed between October 2019 and August 2020, this packaging solution demonstrates exceptional attention to ecological consciousness and cultural synthesis, representing a significant achievement in contemporary packaging design that earned recognition at the prestigious A' Design Award competition.
