Interpolation Art GalleryInterpolation Art GalleryInterpolation Art Gallery is an innovative architectural project designed to serve as a cultural landmark within Seoul's Seokchon Lake Park, representing a sophisticated integration of artistic space and public accessibility. This Silver A' Design Award-winning structure masterfully addresses the park's topographical challenges by connecting two distinct ring paths with a 4-meter elevation difference through an organically interpolating passage. The gallery's design philosophy emphasizes the seamless fusion of cultural experience with everyday life, featuring a flowing connection between interior and exterior spaces that creates an immersive artistic environment. The structure, spanning 1,543.2 square meters across three floors above ground and one below, employs rationalized surfaces despite its organic appearance, utilizing curved aluminum panels and exposed concrete deck structures. The building incorporates advanced sustainability features, including ground-source heat pumps and photovoltaic panels, adhering to Seoul City's zero-energy requirements for public buildings. The gallery's innovative construction methodology optimizes fabrication efficiency by incorporating 80% flat panels and 20% curved surfaces, demonstrating technical ingenuity while maintaining aesthetic integrity. This architectural intervention not only serves as a visual gateway to the park but also functions as a vital cultural amenity, offering visitors and passersby continuous engagement with art through its thoughtfully designed spaces and flowing pathways, effectively transforming the public park experience while meeting rigorous regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
