Qube Shanghai HotelQube Shanghai HotelQube Shanghai Hotel is a distinguished luxury hospitality establishment located in Shanghai's Jiading District, exemplifying the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary design aesthetics. The 31,000-square-meter property, designed by Yue Ding and Jun Chao, draws profound inspiration from the historical significance of Jiangqiao, incorporating the metaphorical concept of bridges and waterways throughout its architectural narrative. The hotel's design philosophy centers on Searching for the Memory of Jiangqiao, manifested through sophisticated spatial arrangements and thoughtful material selections. The interior design scheme employs a refined color palette of subtle grey accented with distinctive orange and champagne gold tones, creating an atmosphere of understated elegance. Notable architectural features include bridge-structured columns, expansive void spaces, and innovative floor treatments that simulate water surfaces, paying homage to Jiangqiao's historical role as a maritime-terrestrial transport intersection. The lobby, despite its spatial constraints of 6-meter height, showcases creative solutions including a high corridor inspired by traditional rice buckets, symbolizing prosperity and abundance. The property encompasses a 600-square-meter multi-functional banquet hall and five conference rooms, while the Chinese dining area incorporates traditional courtyard elements characteristic of Jiangnan architecture. This exceptional design achievement was recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design and cultural preservation. The project, completed in 2019, stands as a testament to the successful integration of functional luxury hospitality design with meaningful cultural storytelling.
