El Lissitzky Business Lounge

El Lissitzky Business Lounge is an award-winning interior architectural masterpiece that exemplifies the principles of Russian Constructivism and Suprematist design philosophy, located within an international airport terminal. The lounge, spanning approximately 730 square meters with ceiling heights varying from 3.5 to 5.5 meters, represents a sophisticated interpretation of El Lissitzky's revolutionary Proun concept, which bridges the transition from painting to architecture. The design's most striking feature is its imposing ceiling structure, which incorporates architectural columns to create distinct functional zones while paying homage to El Lissitzky's geometric abstractions. The space accommodates over 160 seats through thoughtfully designed zones that maintain both openness and privacy, featuring sustainable materials and innovative technological integration throughout. A significant design element is the strategic placement of a large mirror wall at the lounge's terminus, creating an infinite visual extension of the space that references El Lissitzky's famous work Victory Over the Sun. The interior demonstrates exceptional attention to environmental considerations through its use of natural, sustainable materials and innovative HVAC integration within the ceiling elements. The project, which was completed in 2020 and received the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully transforms the conventional airport lounge concept into a tranquil oasis that harmoniously balances functionality with artistic vision, creating a space that serves as both a practical transit point and a cultural touchstone.
